746,980. Gravity separation of liquids &c. ETABLISSEMENTS NEYRPIC. Feb. 11, 1954, No. 4106/54. Class 46. In decanting apparatus in which the inner space is divided into compartments of small cross-section, an element is provided in each compartment where the deposited material accumulates and extends longitudinally thereof, either at the liquid intake or outlet, and provides a flow space for the deposited material separated from the zone of flow of the liquid. The lower (inlet) end of a decanting tube 1 is provided with a baffle plate or tongue 7 extending across its lower part to form a passage 9 for deposited material separated from the liquid inlet 2. The baffle may be provided as a liquid inlet tube 20 within the outer tube 11, several of which 11, 12, 13 are arranged adjacent to one another, the inner tubes 20 being mounted on a dome-shaped plate 15 constituting a collecting chamber for the material. A tongue, shaped as an inverted gutter with apertured edges, may extend beyond the tube 20.
|
