PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a currency handling machine capable of preventing discrepancy between the count result and actual amount of money stored in a cashbox caused by a coin feeding error while utilizing a previous count.SOLUTION: When a coin feeding error occurs on a feeder unit 22 during checking and counting coins, the checking and counting operation is interrupted; and a top cover 8 is opened and the cause of the feeding error is removed. After that, when the top cover 8 is closed, it is determined if a conveyance unit 23 is activated during a period from a point when the top cover 8 is opened to a point when the top cover 8 is closed. When it is determined that the conveyance unit 23 is not activated, it is determined that the state of the coins is maintained during the interruption of checking and counting operation by the conveyance unit 23, and the checking and counting operation is resumed. When it is determined that the conveyance unit 23 is activated, the count at that point is cancelled, and every received bank bills and coins are returned to an operator. |
