A sensor device includes a mounting substrate, and a sensor chip held on the mounting substrate. The sensor chip includes holding plate (12) and a plurality of through holes (18) each penetrating through a first surface and a second surface of holding plate (12). A solution including a specimen is allowed to flow over the first surface of holding plate (12) and the specimen is held in plurality of through holes (18). The directions of line segments connecting the centers of the adjacent through holes among plurality of through holes (18) are not parallel to a flow direction of the solution.
