1. A data processing system comprising:
an analog to digital converter circuit configured to convert an input signal into a series of corresponding digital samples; a sample based noise cancellation circuit configured to:
calculate a noise component based at least in part on the series of digital samples; andsubtract the noise component from the series of digital samples to yield a noise corrected output, wherein the sample based noise cancellation circuit comprises a convolution filter circuit configured to generate an approximation of the series of digital samples, and a summation circuit configured to subtract the approximation of the series of digital samples from the series of digital samples to yield a sum, wherein the noise component is derived from the sum; and an equalizer circuit configured to equalize the noise corrected output to yield an equalized output.
