PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when the object detection device activated by a number of radio wave irradiation and a device irradiating the similar electric waves other than this detection device are located in the same detection area, the presence determination (distance calculation) of the object is frequently interrupted by the mutual interference of the electric waves, and though means for prevention is available, a prevention method is restricted when the number of devices to be arranged is increased.SOLUTION: An electric wave D is irradiated to a detection area K while being modulated in frequency, and a reflection wave R reflected on an object T in the detection area K is received so that a distance of the object T in the detection area K is calculated. The presence of an interference wave G for interrupting the calculation of the distance up to the object T in the detection area K is determined at the time of stoppage of the irradiation of the electric wave D, and signal processing means 5 in which the distance of the object T is calculated by irradiating the electric wave D when it is determined that the interference wave G is not present and the irradiation stoppage of the electric wave D is suspended when it is determined that the interference wave G is present includes a holding excess part 7 for outputting a holding excess signal H when the irradiation stoppage of the electric wave D exceeds a predetermined time. |
