<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-residual-quantity detection device and an image formation apparatus capable of reducing sheet-residual-quantity detection errors due to minute vibration.SOLUTION: A sheet-residual-quantity detection device includes: a rotational member 20 on which light transmittable transparent regions 20A and nontransparent regions 20B that do not transmit light are alternately arranged in a circumferential direction; a light-receiving unit 50B that includes light-receiving elements arranged to be opposed to the rotational member 20 at a predetermined angle formed between an array direction of the light-receiving elements and a radial direction of the rotational member 20, and outputs different light-receiving level values depending on the light-receiving elements that receive light; and a light-output unit 50A for outputting light to the respective light-receiving elements. A count control unit 12 adds a count value on the basis of predetermined reference information and a change in the light-receiving level value obtained by the light-receiving unit 50B, and a residual quantity detection unit 13 detects a sheet residual quantity using the obtained count value.</p> |
