Provided is a substrate with a hard-coated membrane which has an anti-blocking property and in which curling is suppressed. According to the present invention, the substrate with a hard-coated membrane comprises a substrate and a hard-coated membrane formed on the substrate. The hard-coated membrane is made of: (i) a metal oxide particle (A) cluster (CL); (ii) a matrix component; and (iii) a cluster forming agent. At least part of the cluster (CL) forms a projection on the surface of the hard-coated membrane, and the projection has a height (H, �� of 15 - 200 nm. Also, according to the present invention, a solution for forming the hard-coated membrane is made of metal oxide particles (A), a matrix forming component, a cluster forming agent, and a dispersion medium. The concentration (CA) of the metal oxide particles (A), as solid, is 0.025 - 48 wt%. The concentration (CM) of the matrix forming component, as solid, is 1 - 59.7 wt%. The concentration (CCL) of the cluster forming agent, as solid, is 0.0005 - 6 wt%. The metal oxide particles (A) of which the total solid concentration is 1 - 60 wt% form clusters (CLP). |
