PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine having a catalyst case in an exhaust system, for achieving a simplified construction and improved exhaust gas sealing performance.SOLUTION: In a cylinder head 1, an exhaust collective passage 11 is integrally formed and an exhaust manifold does not exits. On the cylinder head 1, a catalyst case 12 is mounted via a ball joint device 13 having a gasket 14 and a cylinder part 15. The cylinder part 15 is pressed and held on the gasket 14 with bolts 17 via springs 18. Since the catalyst case 12 is mounted on the cylinder head 1, a supporting bracket and stays are not necessary and the swinging motion of the catalyst case 12 due to vibration is reduced to achieve high sealing performance. |
