PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing spherical hollow silica particles in which the particle strength is improved.SOLUTION: A method of producing spherical hollow silica particles includes a step (a) for coating of spherical calcium carbonate with silica and a step (b) for elution of the calcium carbonate under an acidic condition, wherein (a) spherical calcium carbonate has a sphericity of 1.0-1.5.
