The present invention discloses an apparatus and a method for recommending contents. An apparatus for recommending contents according to one aspect of the present invention includes a collecting unit for collecting score data corresponding to a first kind of contents desired to be recommended by a user from on-line content score data having a power law distribution; a prediction unit for predicting a score, which is not previously given by a matrix factorization scheme and a random bias scheme, based on the collected score data; and a recommendation unit for providing at least one of the first kind of contents having a high score by using the collected score data and the predicted score. |
