Class 38(5) An index mechanism for a switch, e.g. that of Specification 478,391, comprises a fixed plate 20 having index deformations 26, a cruciform-shaped yoke 30 secured to the switch shaft 10, and a circular spring 40 secured to two opposite arms 33, 34 of the yoke, one (as shown) or both (Fig. 5, not shown) of the remaining yoke arms being apertured at 38 to receive a ball bearing 39 co-operating with the deformations 26. The spring 40 is secured to the arms 33, 34 between the yoke and the plate 20, but it lies over the other arms of the yoke to bias the ball(s) 39. |
