A method for serving advertisements in a social network, the social network being a web platform with a plurality of user accounts, the method comprising: at a computing system: retrieving a content stream comprising a feed of pushed posts generated by social network connections of each user account on a social network, the social network connections comprising entities selected by the user to follow on the social network; creating a user summary comprising keyword parameters extracted from implicit user attributes from the content stream for each user account; receiving an advertisement summary associated with an advertisement from an advertiser that is not followed by the user; calculating a similarity score between the user summary and the advertisement summary; and inserting the advertisement into the content stream as a post visible on a second computer based on the similarity score.
