Disclosed are a method and device for cleaning terminal redundant information, relating to the technical field of network communication. The method comprises the steps of: calculating an estimated redundant value of at least one kind of redundant information in a terminal; determining the redundant value of a kind of redundant information reaching the threshold value of the kind of redundant value; prompting a user to clean redundant information; cleaning the kind of redundant information or all of the redundant information according to the user's confirmation. The device comprises: a first calculation unit, a determination unit, a prompt unit and a cleaning unit. According to the method and device of the present application, the estimated redundant value of terminal redundant information can be estimated, by analyzing the user's history redundant data information actively, and the user can be prompted to process the redundant information reaching the threshold value without scanning, thus saving system resources and the user's time, improving system performance, and saving the user's time. |
