PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce injuries to a pedestrian by sweeping a pedestrian's legs by a platform to catch the pedestrian on the platform (mounting the waist of the pedestrian) during a head-on collision.SOLUTION: The vehicle 10 comprises: a platform 11 which is disposed on a front part of a cab 16 and capable of sweeping a pedestrian's legs to mount the waist of the pedestrian thereon; a pedestrian detection system 12 for predicting a head-on collision with a pedestrian; and a platform drive mechanism 13 for holding the platform 11 in a raised state and bringing down the platform 11 toward a front part of the vehicle from the raised state when a head-on collision is predicted by the pedestrian detection system 12. |
