REDUCING DENTAL CARIES

Provided are methods of reducing the occurrence of dental caries in a subject. The methods comprise selecting a subject with or at risk of developing dental caries and contacting the oral cavity of the subject with a therapeutically effective amount of an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor. Also provided are oral treatment forms comprising a statin or derivative thereof.
