<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic data recording system with a mirror image asymmetric magnetic writing element.SOLUTION: In a magnetic disk drive system configured for shingled magnetic data recording, data tracks are recorded in an overlapped mode on a magnetic medium. The disk drive system includes asymmetric magnetic writing heads so as to have increased writing on one side of the writing head. The magnetic disk drive system includes magnetic writing heads that are mirror images of one another so that writing heads located on the opposite surfaces of the magnetic medium (e.g. one head facing up and the other head facing down) have preferential writing on places relative to inner and outer diameters of the magnetic medium.</p> |
