<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which can respond to downsizing and a high-peripheral speed process associated with a downsized high speed electrophotographic apparatus and has high sensitivity and high photoresponsivity in a long wavelength region of an electrophotographic apparatus and high stability without degradation of electrical properties for repeated use, an electrophotographic apparatus using the same, an electrophotographic method, and a process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises a conductive support and a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer includes a binder resin, a charge generating agent, and a charge transporting agent. The charge generating agent contains an asymmetric disazo pigment.
