A pen needle assembly (111) includes an outer shell (151) having a first end adapted to contact a patient's skin at an injection site. A hub (131) is movably disposed within the outer shell. A first spring (141) has a first end connected to the outer shell and a second end connected to the inner shell. A second spring (161) has a first end connected to the inner shell and a second end connected to the hub. An adhesive layer (191) is disposed on the movable hub for contacting and raising the skin at the injection site.
