The shield 1 of a motor scooter projects forwardly of the scooter and has a curved portion with rearwardly extending upper and lower portions and has a mounting carrying a battery or batteries 10 immediately behind the curved portion. In the embodiment the mounting comprises dishes 6 carried on shelves 5 which are supported on brackets 4. Hooks 13 fixed to the dishes 6 are engaged by resilient straps 12 to retain the batteries 10 which are enclosed in a housing 2 mounted on the shield 1. The housing 2 extends upwardly on each side of a casing 11 comprising a dashboard and storage compartment. An opening 7, closed by a cover 8, and a vent 9 are provided in the housing 2. The vent may be provided in the shield 1. |
