PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten waiting time until reading of an image is completed. SOLUTION: An image processor comprises: an image reading part 103 which reads the image and generates image data based on the image; a storage part 106 which stores the image data; a display operation part 102 as an input part which receives input of operator's instruction including setting data on the execution of a function; a printing part 107 as a processing part which executes processing according to the function, on the image data stored in the storage part 106; a facsimile control part 108B, an electronic mail control part 108C, a data communication control part 108D, and an external memory control part 108E; and an overall control unit 108A which controls the image reading part 103, the storage part 106, the input part, and the processing part. The overall control unit 108A starts reading of the image by the image reading part 103 before receiving of the input of the setting data by the input part is completed.
