In a metal pump including a driving motor installed to a plating snout, a driving shaft rotated by the driving motor, an impeller rotated by the rotation of the driving shaft, and a reduction gear installed between the driving motor and the driving shaft, an apparatus for monitoring abnormality of the metal pump further includes a torque measuring sensor which measures torque of the driving shaft, a current and torque measuring sensor which measures current used by the driving motor and converts the measured current into torque, a rotation measuring sensor which measures rotation of the driving shaft, and a controller which receives measuring results from the torque measuring sensor, the current and torque measuring sensor, and the rotation measuring sensor, emits a reduction gear alarm warning when ratio of torque of the driving motor to torque of the driving shaft is not more than a predetermined ratio and the driving shaft is rotating, and a driving shaft constraining alarm warning when ratio of torque of the driving motor to torque of the driving shaft is not less than a predetermined ratio and the driving shaft is not rotating. According to the present invention, the apparatus further includes the torque measuring sensor, the current and torque measuring sensor, and the rotation measuring sensor which are installed to the metal pump. The controller receives measured values from the sensors and emits reduction gear alarm warning or driving shaft constraining alarm warning according to a ratio of measured value and rotation of driving shaft whether or not the driving shaft is rotating to notify the current state of metal pump to an operator, thereby accurately predicting maintenance and replacement periods of the metal pump for timely repair or replacement of the metal pump. |
