LIGHT GUIDE PLATE WITH BLUNT EDGES

Electronic devices may comprise displays. The display may comprise display layers having an array of display pixels and a back light unit which provides back light to the display pixels. The back light unit may comprise a stack of optical films which can be used for improving back light performance and a light guide plate which distributes light to the display layers. The optical films can be interposed between the light guide plate and the display layers. The light guide plate may have at least one rounded edge and/or at least one inclined edge which have/has chamfered surfaces. The abrasive contact between the light guide plate and adjacent optical films can be minimized by providing the rounded or inclined edges to the light guide plate. Injection molding equipment for molding the light guide plate having the rounded or inclined edges can be used.
