PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device in which even if abnormality occurs in a motor for driving a vehicle, the vehicle can be stably travelled.SOLUTION: A motor drive device is equipped with a motor 6 for driving a wheel, motor drive circuit units 13, and drive control means 23. The motor 6 has multiple winding structures in which windings of motor coils in respective phases are separated into plural winding circuits 9, 10 and the windings of respective winding circuits 9, 10 are wound around a core same as each other. Further, the motor 6 has terminals 11, 12 in respective winding circuits, the terminals 11, 12 are connected to the motor drive circuit units 13, 13. The drive control means 23 is provided with abnormality determination means 26 which determines abnormality in each of the winding circuits 9, 10, and abnormal time control means 24 which droves with use of either one winding circuit 10, (9) in the motor 6, when it is determined by the abnormality determination means 26 that the other winding circuit 9, (10) in the motor 6 is abnormal. |
