PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a catalyst fine particle that has a smaller number of steps than the conventional method, and to provide a fuel battery including a catalyst fine particle produced by the production method.SOLUTION: The method for producing a catalyst fine particle produces a catalyst fine particle having a central particle comprising palladium and an outermost layer comprising platinum and coating the central particle. The method comprises a first electric potential treatment step of applying an electric potential in a range of 0.4-0.6 V(vs.RHE) to an acid solution in which palladium-containing particles are dispersed and a second electric potential treatment step of adding at least a platinum ion to the acid solution in which the palladium-containing particles are dispersed after the first potential treatment step and applying an electric potential in a range of 0.80-1.0 V(vs.RHE) to thereby coat the palladium-containing particle with the outermost layer containing platinum.
