The present invention relates to a method for enlarging contents and an electronic device thereof. The method for enlarging contents used by the electronic device includes the steps of: displaying contents; detecting a menu being selected to enlarge a specific area of the contents; displaying a semi-transparent upon detecting the menu selection; and enlarging and displaying the zoom area of the contents determined by using the instruction pointer by a predetermined ratio. Accordingly, when the contents are enlarged to be displayed on the electronic device, the entire area of the contents can be displayed without leaving any part unseen by the instruction pointer.
