PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress radiation noise resulting from an electric signal by performing a density reduction process according to a print speed.SOLUTION: A printer includes processing means for selecting a thinning pattern applied to image data in accordance with a print speed of the image data, and performing thinning processing on the image data using the selected thinning pattern. In the selection, the thinning pattern in which a frequency with respect to periodicity of the thinning pattern is not a multiplication of a frequency of a transfer clock to a printing processing unit determined by the print speed is selected.
