PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in an image forming apparatus that performs exposure to an area other than a toner image forming unit with the same light intensity as that to the toner image forming unit in a shorter time period than a time period required to perform exposure to the toner image forming unit, when counting video signals to predict toner consumption, the image forming apparatus counts video signals for the exposure of the area other than the toner image forming unit, which prevents the prediction of toner consumption.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus reduces an exposure time period per unit area to perform exposure to an area other than a toner image forming unit shorter than an exposure time period per unit area to perform exposure to the toner image forming unit, so as to make a timing to perform exposure to the area other than the toner image forming unit different from a timing at which a counter counts video signals. |
