<p>Sheet material, e.g. for shoe components, has a coating of synthetic polymeric material, e.g. polyamide, in viscous molten state applied to selected areas, which are to be stiffened. A flexible fibrous reinforcing web, e.g. of lightweight burlap, is laid down over the coating, while it is still in the soft adhesive condition, and a second coating of the polymeric material supplied over the web, and the coatings hardened.</p> |
