An apparatus and a method for auto recovery of display resolution are provided to recover an image of a monitor to predetermined display resolution by using a DDC-C(Display Data Channel Command Interface) function when changing the resolution of the image by selecting high resolution that the monitor does not support. A resolution setting unit(121) sets up the resolution of a PC, and a resolution judgment unit(122) judges whether or not a monitor supports the resolution. If so, the resolution judgment unit outputs the image of the setup resolution. If not, a resolution recovery unit(123) automatically searches the resolution of an image within a range that the monitor can support resolution by using a DDC-CI function. The resolution recovery unit outputs an OSD(On Screen Display) menu for selecting the searched resolution. A resolution change unit(124) changes the resolution of the monitor to predetermined resolution in the PC, here the resolution change unit changes the resolution of the monitor by changing the resolution to the reference resolution of the PC according to the OSD menu. |
