PURPOSE: An oil water separator is provided to separately discharge a material with lower specific gravity than water such as gas and oil fractions, a material with higher specific gravity than water such as slurry, and water and water-soluble components, and to conveniently and environment-friendlily treat an oil water mixture. CONSTITUTION: An oil water separator comprises a combination of pipes comprising a waterway. The pipe combination comprises an oil water separating unit and a level maintaining part. The oil water separating unit comprises at least two vertical pipes(211, 212, 213), at least one upper horizontal pipe(221, 222) connecting the top-end portion of the vertical pipes, and at least one lower horizontal pipe(231, 232) connecting the low-end portion of the vertical pipes. Most of water in an oil water mixture flows to the downstream through the first vertical pipe and the lower horizontal pipes. The small fractions of water and oil flow through the upper horizontal pipes. The oil drains to an oil outlet(130). The small fraction of water flows to the downstream through the second vertical pipe. |
