Provided is a terminal device whereby it is possible to rapidly acquire location-associated information which is associated with location information. A first communication unit carries out communication via a first information communication network. A second communication unit carries out communication via a second information communication network. A location information acquisition unit acquires location information of a terminal device. A communication quality measurement unit measures communication quality of the first information communication network and communication quality of the second information communication network. A connection determination unit determines whether it is possible to connect with the first information communication network and whether it is possible to connect with the second information communication network. A communication control unit designates either the first communication unit or the second communication unit, on the basis of the result of the measurements by the communication quality measurement unit and the result of the determination by the connection determination unit. The communication control unit transmits the location information which the location information acquisition unit has acquired to a location-associated information presence determination device via the first information communication network. Upon acquiring presence notification information from the location-associated information presence determination device which denotes the presence of the location-associated information, the communication control unit acquires the location-associated information, using either the first communication unit or the second communication unit designated on the basis of the results of the measurement by the communication quality measurement unit and the result of the determination by the connection determination unit.
