<p>Provided is a technique by which steel plates of various shapes can be accurately cut in a desired shape. This cutting method is for cutting a workpiece (W) using a nibbler (50) configured to include a cylindrical case (51), a punch (52) which is housed inside the case (51) and which reciprocates in the vertical direction, and a die body (54) provided below the case (51). While moving the nibbler, the punch (52) continuously punches the workpiece (W) supplied between the case (51) and the die body (54). This cutting method includes: a step for providing a guide member (30) near the die of the nibbler (50), which is in a cutting position, and along the path of motion of the nibbler (50), said guide member (30) having a first guide surface (30a) which, through contact with the lateral surface of the die of the nibbler (50) in the cutting position, restricts the nibbler (50) from moving from said cutting position in a direction perpendicular to both the vertical direction and the advancement direction of the nibbler (50); and a step for moving the nibbler (50) along the guide member (30).</p> |
