PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which prevents occurrence of abrasion and improves reliability of power transmission.SOLUTION: A fixing device 70 includes a fixing roll 72, a pressure roll 73, a fixing roll gear 76, a pressure roll gear 77, a rocking member 85, a first gear 87, and a second gear 91. When the fixing roll 72 is heated, the pressure roll 73 is separated from the fixing roll 72, the pressure roll gear 77 and the rocking member 85 are rotated counterclockwise, and the second gear 91 is engaged with the fixing roll gear 76 and is rotated clockwise, so that the fixing roll 72 is rotated counterclockwise. After the fixing roll 72 is heated, the rocking member 85 is rotated clockwise, so that the second gear 91 is separated from the fixing roll gear 76, the pressure roll 73 is fixed to the fixing roll 72, the pressure roll 73 is rotated clockwise, and the fixing roll 72 is rotated counterclockwise. |
