PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication module for protecting the eyes from light to be emitted from a light emission element to the outside, and for reducing component costs, and for preventing an assembly work from being complicated.SOLUTION: In an optical communication module 1, a sleeve holding part 60 has a movement regulation part 63 for regulating the movement of a cylindrical elastic sleeve 40 to the outside of a holding and storage hole 61 by allowing an end edge surface 42 of the cylindrical elastic sleeve 40 at the insertion side of a ferrule 11 to butt thereagainst, and when the ferrule 11 is inserted into the holding and storage hole 61, the cylindrical elastic sleeve 40 is arranged in the holding and storage hole 61 such that a gap is formed between the end edge surface 42 and the movement regulation part 63, and when the ferrule 11 is extracted from the holding and storage hole 61, the holding forces of the cylindrical elastic sleeve 40 and the sleeve holding part 60 are adjusted such that the cylindrical elastic sleeve 40 is moved until allowed to butt against the movement regulation part 63 while holding the ferrule 11 and an optical connection member 30. |
