The imaging apparatus generates a composite image based on the left-eye image and the right-eye image, calculates a positional shift amount of the left-eye image relative to a position of the composite image as a parallax amount, and stores information regarding the parallax amount as a parallax map. The imaging apparatus generates a left-eye image and a right-eye image to be reproduced by shifting an object included in the composite image to a position corresponding to the parallax amount indicated by the parallax map.
