PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor pieces of diagnostic information on a plurality of devices in different shapes to be uniformly displayed.SOLUTION: A process control system comprises: a plurality of control means capable of operating some of decentralized controllers which can be selectively installed to some of a plurality of decentralized controllers which perform control by combining smart type field devices and non-smart type field devices; and a software system for executing a diagnosis monitoring and display program. The diagnosis monitoring and display program includes a plurality of diagnostic modules to be selectively defined and created via a user interface, and includes display routines to be uniformly displayed for all the diagnostic modules.
