PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of further reducing power consumption.SOLUTION: In an active mode (step S10:YES), when there is no occurrence of an event or execution of a task being a condition for shifting from a sleep mode to the active mode (step S12:YES), the duration time is counted by a counter T (step S14). The counter T shows a threshold for light sleep Tth1 or more (step S18:YES), and thereby, a mode is shifted to the light sleep mode (step S20). The threshold for light sleep Tth1 varies in accordance with the type of an event which is a trigger for shifting from the sleep mode to the active mode. |
