PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine, capable of performing smoke limit properly after a resumption of fuel supply when scavenging-air of an EGR passage is performed during a stop of fuel supply in a deceleration state of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: An air flow sensor 21 is arranged upstream a confluent portion 5c of a low-pressure EGR passage 16a in an intake passage 5. A low-pressure EGR valve 16c is controlled in an open state in order to scavenge air in the low-pressure EGR passage 16a during a stop of fuel supply, and after a resumption of the fuel supply, a fuel limit quantity QLMT for limiting a fuel injection quantity QFUEL is calculated in order to prevent smoke generation. An estimation fresh air amount GAIRH which is sucked into a combustion chamber is calculated based on an operation state of an internal combustion engine 3 (steps 24 to 26), and the fuel limit quantity QLMT is calculated based on not a detection fresh air amount GAIRD by the air flow sensor 21 but the estimation fresh air amount GAIRH during a first predetermined time TREF1 after the resumption of the fuel supply (steps 15 and 28). |
