PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a carbonaceous material for manufacturing of a high-capacity power storage device.SOLUTION: According to the method for manufacturing a carbonaceous material which contains a voltage application process for performing a charge/discharge cycle to a laminated cell for manufacturing the carbonaceous material with a charging voltage of larger than 2.25 V and 3.5 V or less at charging while applying compression pressure of 100 N/cmto 400 N/cmin a surface direction, the carbonaceous material for stably manufacturing the high-capacity power storage device can be stably manufactured.
