<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in a time period shorter than a predetermined time period such as a non-image forming period during continuous printing, operation cannot be completed in which a developing roller and a photoconductor drum are shifted from a contact state to form an image on a first sheet to a separation state during the non-image forming period, and is shifted to the contact state again to form an image on a second sheet, which causes abrasion of the developing roller and the photoconductor drum.SOLUTION: According to an interval from the completion of the formation of a first toner image by image forming means to the start of the formation of a second toner image subsequent to the first toner image, an image forming apparatus controls as to which one of developer carriers respectively included in a plurality of developing means is separated from an image carrier after the completion of the formation of the first toner image.</p> |
