<p>1279749 Making bearings; rolling TEXTRON Inc 11 March 1970 [19 March 1969] 11682/70 Headings B3A and B3M [Also in Division F2] An annular sealing ring is secured in a bearing race 11 by forming a groove 20 in the race with portions 33 projecting into the race, hardening the race and crimping the sealing ring into the groove so that a deformable member 29 of the ring is interlocked with the projections so as to prevent relative rotation between the ring and the race. The projections 33 may be formed by knurling the race 11 by holding it in a rotatable chuck and applying a knurl tool 43 which may be driven via synchronizing means from the same source as that driving the chuck.</p> |
