This haptic input/output device, which allows the result of an input to be confirmed, is equipped with: a panel (101) that accepts a touch input from a user and outputs the result in the form of vibrations; a touch information acquisition section (103) that obtains touch positions that are simultaneously detected at multiple positions on the panel; a sequential input determination section (105) that determines settings information that corresponds to a spatial sequence stored in a settings information storage unit (104) on the basis of the detection sequence and spatial sequence of the multiple touch positions that are simultaneously detected on the panel (101); a vibration-producing position determination section (107) that determines a touch position having the spatial sequence corresponding to the determined settings information as a first touch position where vibrations are to be produced, and the touch positions other than the first touch position that are simultaneously detected as second touch positions where no vibrations are to be produced; and a multipoint simultaneous vibration control section (109) that simultaneously controls vibrations of the panel (101) at each of the touch positions such that predetermined vibrations are produced at the first touch position, but the predetermined vibrations are not produced at the second touch positions.
