The apparatus (1) has a cleaning pot (5) formed with an aperture (15) for inserting a painting plant lacquer finish tool (3) into an inner space (9) of the cleaning pot. A nozzle (17) is provided in the cleaning pot for spraying carbon dioxide snow (19) into the inner space of the cleaning pot, which is swingably arranged together with the nozzle around the lacquer finish tool. A pressurized air nozzle (21) is arranged at the apparatus for air flow (23), where air is delivered into the inner space of the cleaning pot from the aperture. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a painting plant lacquer finish tool.
