The prevent invention provides a liquid crystal display device including a first and a second substrate opposite to each other; a gate wire and a data wire crossing each other on the first substrate to define a pixel region; a thin film transistor disposed on the first substrate and connected to the gate wire and the data wire; a pixel electrode disposed on the first substrate and connected to the thin film transistor; a common electrode disposed on one of the first and second substrates to form an electric field with the pixel electrode; a black matrix disposed on the second substrate and having a first opening corresponding to the pixel region and a second opening corresponding to at least one of the gate wire and the data wire; a color filter layer disposed on the second substrate and corresponding to the first opening; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second substrates; and a polymer partition disposed corresponding to the second opening to maintain a distance between the first and second substrates. |
