<p>Surgical forceps 1, for example electrosurgical forceps, are disclosed which comprise a pair of arms 10a, 10b, each extending from a connecting hinge or member 20 at a rearward end of the forceps to a tip 30 at the forward end of the forceps. A movable spring or pivot member is disposed between the forward and rearward ends of the forceps and engages the arms such that the axial position of the spring or pivot member 40 is adjustable. The movable spring may comprise a resilient spring member 42 and with two body portions 44a, 44b which surround the forceps arms and slide along them to move the spring 42. The tips 30a, 30b of the forceps are made from a material having high thermal conductivity and attached at the forward end of the arms, preferably by embedding the metal tip into the plastic arm material.</p> |
