An objective of the present invention is to provide a friction force measuring apparatus that has a structure which is capable of precisely measuring a friction force between both specimens in relative motion. The friction force measuring apparatus according to the present invention includes a lower base member; a fixed stand that is fixed on the lower base member and has a pivot shaft disposed in an upper portion; a pivoting member that has a support with an upper end hung on the pivot shaft for free pivoting about the pivot shaft, and a holder which is fixed to a lower end of the support with a fixed specimen mounted on an upper surface; a specimen rotating shaft that has a rotating specimen, which has a circumferential surface, disposed, and rotates the rotating specimen in a state where the circumferential surface is in contact with the fixed specimen with torque of an electric motor transmitted; a specimen rotating shaft supporting member that has a bearing, which supports the specimen rotating shaft, disposed, and moves the specimen rotating shaft upward and downward; and a load cell that is fixedly disposed in the lower base member so as to impede the pivoting of the pivoting member in a direction in which the support is to pivot about the pivot shaft and measures a pressurizing force which is generated between the pivoting member and the lower base member. |
