Bipolar electrosurgical device for cauterizing and cutting biological tissue, which comprises a blade (4) for cutting the tissue and two electrodes (2, 2') provided with an internal conduit (14) for a cooling liquid; characterized in that it comprises an insulating bridge component (3) affixed to the electrodes (2, 2'), the blade (4) being arranged in the lower part thereof, projecting between the two electrodes. The bridge component (3) comprises a hole (5) for accommodating a tube for aspirating vapours produced upon cauterization. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method that comprises cooling the electrodes and placing the electrodes (2, 2') over said biological tissue and applying to them a current that gives rise to cauterization of the tissue, and then said cauterized biological tissue is cut, the device (1) being moved over the biological tissue. As the tissue is cut, the electrodes progress more deeply into the sectioned zone, thereby increasing the depth of the cauterization zone prior to cutting. |
