The present invention relates to a power factor correction apparatus which improves an electromagnetic interference property by randomly changing a switching frequency based on a slope of a chopping wave determined by a random variable. Proposed is a power factor correction apparatus which includes a power factor correction part which corrects a power factor by switching input power; and a switching control part which controls the switching of the power factor correction part by using a switching control signal having a random frequency based on the chopping wave of which slope is changed by the random variable.
