摘要 The present invention refers to an algorithm implemented into a software within a processing unit (microcontroller, microprocessor, PLC, PLD, FPGA, or any other programmable unit), which is useful for electrically filtering noisy signals of partially unknown frequencies, which ranges from 0.1 Hz to the speed allowed by the microcontroller, resulting from any device that uses a measurement by means of the detection of binary pulses of unknown frequency. This algorithm is currently used in an electronic water-flow meter of open canal, where the operator along with a sensor measures the number of pulses produced by the movement of the water when they cross the cones of the sensor and are driven for rotating the same, each spin closing a mechanical switch associated to a current step and resulting in noisy electric and unknown frequency pulses. Based on these measurements, a LCD will display the speed of the flow in the canal according to the particular parameters of the previously used s ensor. This instrument will improve the easiness and time in which the register of the gauge in the open canals is performed. The measurement of the gauge is performed several times a day for determining the average flow of said gauge in all seasons of the year.
