Component of portable electronic devices comprises a polymeric composition (C). The polymeric composition comprises a polyamide (A) derived from the polycondensation of a monomer mixture comprising at least meta-xylylene diamine and para-xylylene diamine, adipic acid and/or sebacic acid, at least 4 wt.% of halogen-free flame retardant agent, and at least 40 wt.% of glass fiber having a non-circular cross section. An independent claim is included for fabricating the component of the portable electronic devices comprising an injection molding step.
